WHAT'S IN MY BAG | LIPSTICKS

I have an excessive amount of lip products that I carry in my backpack. I always grab a different colour and then throw them into my bag and forget about them until I actually clean out my bag. There are 9 different lip products I'm sharing but I did actually have 10 colours but I left that one at work. As you can see I have a type, I love my nudes and then have the occasional dash of wine red shades. I have to say these are my most reached for shades and from the amount of lip products I have I really need to rotate my collection.

From darkest to the lightest shades;

COLOURPOP LIPPIE STIX in GRUNGE | $5
I really like the Colourpop Lippie Stix since they come in so many different formulas. Grunge has a matte finish and is a dark red with brown undertones, this pulls up really brown on me and Grunge is a perfect name for this. It's easy to apply, pigmented and it's suitable for this autumnal season. Colourpop Cosmetics is very affordable and has a vanilla scent which I really like.

MAC WHIRL | £16.50
This is another matte finish lip product. Whirl is a dark beige nude and pulls purple on me since it has mauvey undertones. This is one of those lipsticks that look different on every person, I love to wear this when I use purple eyeshadow. I find that the MAC lipsticks last a very long time on me but it can be a bit dry compared to the Grunge Lippie Stix. ( And another note, remember when MAC lipsticks were only £12.50?) It is pigmented and bold enough for everyday wear.

GERARD COSMETICS HYDRA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK  in 1995 | £15
Gerard Cosmetic's Hydra Matte is one of my favourite liquid lipstick formulas, the texture is very light almost watery/'moussey', it dries down in a couple of seconds and even though it has a matte finish it is moisturising since it has that slight tacky feeling. The longevity of this is very impressive and very easy to reapply. I would describe 1995 as a vintage brown-rose, it looks different on me most days and I need to wear it more.

MAC TAUPE | £16.50
Mac taupe is another brown-toned lipstick with red undertones. This colour is very flattering on me when I want a little more colour to my complexion. You can probably tell I have a type and love my matte finishes, longevity is like the other MAC matte finishes and is comfortable to wear.

MAC VELVET TEDDY | £16.50
Velvet Teddy is my go-to nude for everyday wear, I always have this in my handbag and this is my second one.  Velvet Teddy is a pink nude and again it looks different on every person depending on your natural undertone.

NYX COSMETICS SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM in ABU DHABI | £5.50
Abu Dhabi is very similar to Velvet Teddy just a little more peachy. The SMLC has a whipped formula and they have a huge selection of colours. I do find the SMLC to be a tad drying sometimes so you need to prep your lips very well. I do need to go in with two layers to fully cover my natural lip shade.

COLOURPOP LIPPIE STIX in AQUARIUS | $5
Finally not a matte finish, Aquarius is a creme finish which means it is a medium coverage lipstick and has a sheen. Aquarius is a nude pink shade and is my go-to when I need to give my lips a rest from the matte finishes. This is a beautiful shade on me and is one of my favourite colours. This does fade throughout the day but it fades nicely and is easy to reapply.

BOURJOIS PARIS ROUGE VELVET LIPSTICK in HEY NUDE! | £8.99
I received the whole range of the Bourjois Velvet Lipstick Range from Influenster and the formula of these are amazing, it is a super comfortable matte finish and lasts really long on your lips. The pigment is amazing as well as the bullet that helps achieve precise application. The only thing I don't like about the range is the scent which reminds me of sweet crayons? and the limited amount of nudes they have. Hey nude is the lightest colour from the range and is a light peach nude, sometimes this looks a bit mustard on me and it's one of those nude that makes me look slightly dead but it ended up my bag.

COLOURPOP ULTRA GLOSS LIP in WEHO | $6
Weho is a creme finish and is a pigmented gloss. This is a creamy beige colour and is my go-to gloss and can be applied on top of any other lipstick. If you need something moisturising I would recommend this one. This again fades very nicely throughout the day and makes my lips look juicy. Mine is getting a bit grim since I use it so much so I might need a new one soon.

That is all for this post, hope you've enjoyed it, how many lipsticks do your hoard in your bag? Don't forget to enter my #giveaway here!

Until next time!

  5. Velvet Teddy looks so different on your skintone!! I don't really like it on me. It's more of a pink nude that I find a tad light than what I am used to, but maybe it's a habitual thing.
