Makeup tips for oily skin

Holla at those who have oily skin and want longlasting makeup. We are talking trying not to look like a hot melted mess at the end of the day. I've been through a fair share of products so here are some tips.

Primer

It is very important to create the perfect base and what you need to be looking for are the keywords such as mattifying, oil controlling, oil-free and shine-free. For oily skin types, water and gel-based primers are the best as it won't clog your pores even though you want to reduce that shine.
Some primers that I have reviewed: Wet 'n' Wild Photo Focus Primer, NYX Angel Viel, Barry M Unicorn Elixir Primer Drops, Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water, The Ordinary High Adherence Silicone Primer.

Foundation

There are so many foundations on the market and for oily skin, try to avoid products that enlarge and clogs pores, if you have combination skin avoid foundations that are too drying, the best foundation is finding the perfect balance. What oily skin types need are foundations that absorb excess oil, will stay in place all day and have good coverage that helps with redness and scarring since excess sebum means prone to breakouts. Keywords to look out for are matte and oil-free products. Here are some foundations that I have reviewed: Fenty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation, Cover FX Custom Cover Drops, NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Foundation, EX1 Inviswear Liquid Foundation, Milani Conceal + Perfect Foundation, L.A. Girl Pro Matte Foundation.

Powders

Yep, your T-zone is looking very shiny by noon and you need to blot your face. Some people like coverage in their powders and one of the things when looking for powders are they need to be mattifying, lightweight and does not enlarge pores.
NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop Powder, RCMA No Colour Powder, Pro-tocol Baked Mineral Foundation, Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder.

Setting Spray

You've worked so hard on your makeup and you need to prevent your makeup from moving. Setting sprays truly enhance the longevity and they need to be mattifying, oil-free and shine-free. One of the best things about setting spray are they get rid of that powdery look you sometimes get. Some setting sprays that I have reviewed: Mario Badescu Facial Spray, Wet 'n' Wild Natural Finish Setting Spray, Urban Decay Chil Setting Spray, Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day.

Blotting Paper

When you don't want to powder and just absorb the excess oil on your skin, blotting paper are the best thing to have in your bag since they are portable and you can control what areas you want your complexion to be more matte and oil-free. I've tried The Body Shop Blotting Paper before but the Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets are truly the best, they don't take off my makeup either and you can see how much oil is absorbed on the thin sheet.

What makeup tips do you have for oily skin?

Until next time!
