Heimish Glow Fixer Spray Review | Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist Dupe

When I stumbled upon the Heimish Glow Fixer Spray on YesStyle. My first thoughts were all of the Glow Recipe Watermelon Ultra Fine Mist. I seriously adore that product that is packed with hyaluronic acid that instantly hydrates my skin and gives me a beautiful glow. As I use the GR as a setting spray this would be a great comparison.

Packaging

The shell packaging of both the sprays is the same however the Heimish has a gradient pink running through the bottle. It both has bottle caps and a spray nozzle. The GR mist is known for the fog mist and it is insanely fine. The Heimish does spray a decent fine mist but not as airy as the GR but it still does the job of evenly coating your skin.

Scent

When it comes to scent, GR is the classic fresh watermelon scent and the Heimish is rose. The scent is nice and not too overwhelming if you have a sensitive nose.

Ingredients

In terms of ingredients Heimish is infused with:

  • 92% rose water,
  • ceramide (moringa eco ceramide - strengthens the skin barrier and prevents moisture loss),
  • anti sebum P (minimise pores and absorb sebum)
It claims to be mask proof and protects against bacteria such as Pneumococcus (bacteria infections that infect the lungs), Escherichia (bacteria infection that involves the gut) and Staphylococcus aureus (germs found on the skin and nose) with 99.9% reduction rate. I also noticed there is Niacinamide in the ingredient list great to prevent breakouts and control inflammation.

Heimish Glow Fixer ingredients

Rosa Damascena Flower Water, 1,2-Hexanediol, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Ceramide 3, Adenium Obesum Leaf Cell Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Pinus Palustris Leaf Extract, Pueraria Lobata Root Extract, Panthenol, Allantoin, Adenosine, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Phytosphingosine, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Sterols, Candida Bombicola/Glucose/Methyl Rapeseedate Ferment, Tocopherol, Hydroxyacetophenone, Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate, Octyldodeceth-20, Water, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Citric Acid, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, Octyldodecanol, Oleyl Alcohol, Lauric Acid, Myristic Acid, CI 17200, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA

The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist contains:

  • 84% watermelon (for hydration and preventing fine lines and wrinkles),
  • hyaluronic acid ( hydrates and plumps skin),
  • Hibiscus AHA (smooths uneven texture, soften and hydrates),
  • Rice Germ Oil (an anti-oxidant with vitamin e to hydrate and protect)

How they perform
I used both products on alternative days and also did a half and half test.

The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra Fine Mist needs to be vigorously shaken before sprayed this is because of its ingredients. It contains rice germ oil and I believe its quite high on the ingredient list. When you look at the product you see little molecules of oil like a lava lamp. It's a fantastic moisture booster and does a fantastic job of setting my makeup but it is easy to overdo it and you become a little greasy.

Whenever you pick up the Heimish Glow Fixer the product moves around like a cosmic ball. I still give this a good shake before I spray and similar to the GR it's easy to overdo it. It does contain oils: Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil which are the 6th, 9th, 10th and 11th ingredient.

Longevity
When it comes to setting my makeup, both products instantly takes away the powdery look from using powders and leaves me with a beautiful natural glow. Their longevity lasts the same. The only differences are the Glow Recipe takes fewer sprays to reach the over 'glowy' stage and the mist is finer.

Could I replace the Glow Recipe?
The Hemish Glow Fixer is a fantastic dupe of the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra Fine Mist, the performance is exactly the same. There's nothing stopping you using this as a skincare product either. I do prefer the scent of watermelon as it's more refreshing but to set your makeup I wouldn't hesitate to swap over. Money definitely saved.

The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra Fine Mist retails for $140HKD/ £17.50 GBP (includes promotional offer on 14th December 2020) on CultBeauty and I purchased the Heimish Glow Fixer on Yesstyle that retails for $95 HKD/ £11 GBP (includes promotional offer on 14th December 2020).

  2. Wow these items sound great. This time of year, longevity is something I am really looking for. The weather, pollution and masks are killing off some of my favourite brands! Defo going to check these out!
