|H&M FACE MASK : CHARCOAL AND VOLCANIC REVIEW|
I picked up the H&M's face mask in my haul here, and quite a few of you guys have requested a review of the H&M Charcoal and Volcanic Soil face mask
The H&M face mask comes in various colours to highlight and differentiate uses for the skin. The Charcoal and Volcanic Soil face mask comes in a dark green peel back plastic tub with instructions inside the cardboard holder, whereas the Aloe and Cucumber face mask comes in a light grey plastic packaging.
PRODUCT, APPLICATION & TIME
The charcoal and volcanic soil is a pore cleansing face mask with sea salt for blemish prone skin as it says on the packaging. The face mask has a thick creamy formula which is drip-free, contains little salt beads which lightly exfoliates your skin and smells a bit like baby wipes. With the face mask being thick, it has a build-able formula which allows you to apply more products on problem areas. I applied more of the product on my forehead and chin, which is where I normally get breakouts. The recommended time to leave the face mask on is 15-20 minutes, but I leave it on until it dries on my whole face, that is because the face mask has a clay like texture to it, and cracks. To remove the product after is dries, is with a damp towel.
While the face mask was on, I felt the following effects: tingly, tightening and cool. All three effects was due to the face mask drying up on your skin, absorbing impurities and oils. The cooling effect led to the tingly feeling, which is it's a feeling you get when you use clay masks. To reseal the product, I put the peel lid back on and put it inside the cardboard holder the product came in and put something heavy on top of the product to prevent the face mask from drying out, this is because there is enough product for 2 applications for me.
While waiting for the face mask to fully dry on my face (took about 25 minutes) some parts of the masks such my chin area can easily be rubbed of with your fingers, this helps exfoliate the skin. But since I have sensitive skin, I used a damp towel to remove. The face mask was difficult to get off, since it has a clay-like texture and has exfoliating salt (and the water did turn grey) but my face felt extremely hydrated and smooth afterwards.
The next day my skin felt like a baby's butt. - I am being serious, and the spot that I had on my forehead has dried up. The spot is obviously still here but it does not hurt anymore and I haven't broken out anymore considering monthlies are about to come and the amount of junk food I have eaten . Since I done this face mask on Sunday, my skin still feels just as amazing (Tuesday today). I recommend this to anyone who wants to try a light clay face mask.
The H&M face masks retails for £1.99 each which is extremely affordable. There is also enough product for two applications. I have quite an wide and oval face and there is enough product for me.
WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS?
Yes, I have sensitive combination skin, and I have only seen positive outcomes of this face mask. I went back to the store to purchase another to see if I felt the same to when I first used it, and I still do! It is a brilliant face mask, skip the 99p ones and give these ones a go. There are many other options such as for tired skin, for dull skin, for hydrating, the list goes on and on.
*Also please test this before putting the product on your face, as different people have different reactions, just because it has worked on me does not necessarily it will be the same on you.*
Until next time.
