CIATE X OLIVIA PALERMO MAKEUP COLLECTION

I've been sitting on this collection for a while now because I have been waiting for the Eyeshadow Palette in Smoky Suedes to come though my door but I missed the postman, so this has been scheduled for a good month now from tracking down what I want. The eye-shadow palette will now have a dedicated  post since I can not wait any longer. For more details see The Vanity Edit.

When I first saw this collection in Superdrug, I was immediately drawn in by the packaging but I was a bit indecisive about the brand. Ciate is known as a nail polish brand and for something that is available in a drugstore I was expecting an affordable price but the lipsticks retails for £19 each which is definitely more than Mac, so I waited out and then stumbled upon them in my local TK Maxx. I picked up the lipsticks for £5.99 each and the bronzer cheek duo for £6.99 which originally retails for £25.

The box that holds the product is well thought through which does portrays Olivia Palermo's taste. The packaging has a pebbled leather effect with gold detail, not to mention the actual look of the products follows through with the gold and black detail throughout. The packaging overall looks and feels very luxurious.

Starting with a complexion product is The Cheekbone Cheat Duo in Bluff Point which as named is a bronzer and blusher 2 in 1 product. This has a incredibly smooth finish, is soft to touch, glides on my skin perfectly and has a demi-matte finish. The bronzer is a neutral shade, it's not too warm or too cool which is great for building up that contoured look. The blusher is a dusky pink shade which is perfect for a spring/summer selection. This duo is the lighter version for pale/medium skin tones, I can't wait to crack this out and finally use it.

For the lips, I picked up three shades from the Satin Kiss Collection: Velveteen, Praline and Cashmere. Velveteen is a red wine shade suitable for bold looks. Praline is a brown toned pink - a perfect nude shade for medium to dark skin tones. And Cashmere is a cool toned nude. My favourite shade is Praline, it gives me a 90's look and is my current favourite nude shade to opt for. Praline lasts on my lips approximately 5 hours. If your lips are on the drier side you might find this drying, sometimes I do and I apply a light gloss which helps with longevity. These lipsticks are very pigmented and as suggested you do get a good colour pay-off in one swipe. The packaging is beautiful, it is slightly weighted and when I pull this out my bag, I'm like YES! Because it does look very premium and incredibly sleek. My Smoky Suedes palette review is available here.

Have you picked up anything from this collection?
Until next time!
Joyce
