Glow Recipe | Blueberry Bounce Bounce Cleanser Review

A 3 in 1 cleanser that claims to deep cleanse, moisturise and mask? The Glow Recipe Blueberry Bounce Cleanser promises that leaving you with soft, hydrated, bouncy and dewy skin. Without reading any reviews I added this into my basket seen in my Cult Beauty haul. What are my thoughts on this?

Formulated with vitamin, antioxidant-rich blueberry extract and hyaluronic acid it claims to remove makeup and dulling dead skin cells while moisturising your skin like a toner for bouncy, dewy not stripped or tight feeling. Skin will also feel softer, appear brighter and is perfectly prepped to absorb your skincare steps.

The cleanser itself is transparent and has a thick jelly-like texture. It comes in a lilac pump applicator and the pump gives you the control over how much product you wish to use. The cleanser does smell absolutely divine and makes you want to use it. I did experiment with the 3 different methods they suggested .....

Makeup remover

'Create a lather in wet palms and gently massage into face and neck in small circular motions for a full minute to eliminate all traces of makeup. Rinse thoroughly and follow through with your usual skincare routine. '

This created a small lather within my palms and disappeared when applied to my skin. It felt tugging and did not at all remove my makeup well. It also stung my eyeballs so please be aware and left that parched feeling on my skin making me reach for my next product immediately.

Cleanser

'Dispense one pump onto wet palms and rub to create a lather. Massage gently onto skin, then rinse thoroughly with water. Follow through with your usual skincare regime'

As a second step cleanser, it performed much better and I had a decent amount of lather when I used my foreo device. It left me with bouncy and hydrated skin for a few seconds and then my skin felt tight and dry which made me apply my toner quickly to restore some hydration.

Mask

'Apply a generous layer to clean, dry skin. After 5 minutes rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Follow through with your usual skincare routine.'

I used a good couple of pumps and slathered this across my face, but as soon as I applied this to my skin I had the feeling of regret since it was thick and it is super hard to remove, the more you wash it off the more lather it creates, I ended up jumping back into the shower to remove all traces of the 'mask'. As a mask, it did nothing for my skin except leave me with that stripped feeling that it claims not to do. One good thing about this as a mask; it does not drip.

Overall

I am left quite disappointed with the claims the product can do. It does not perform well as a makeup cleanser or as a mask and as a luxury-priced cleanser, I would skip this. My skin reacted to this and made my skin super sensitive to the point where applying makeup would hurt, I am glad that I only use one new item in my skincare routine to determine it was this '3 in 1 cleanser' The only positive is that smells amazing. I do think I have wasted my money since I can't use this anymore so it's sitting on my bathroom shelf. For now, I would be stick to the masking products of Glow Recipe.

P.S don't get this into your mouth either, it tastes horrible.

Hope you enjoyed this review!
