YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stain 07 Nu Interdit Review

Who else falls for the packaging? The YSL Tatouage Couture Matte Lip Stain has been on the market for a while but this is my first product from YSL, is it a must-have in your makeup bag?

In a matte frosted glass packaging topped with a gold lid, the YSL applicator has a flat slanted pointed square tip that helps with precise application. It has a hefty price tag of £29 and one word to describe it is 'fancy'. It is claimed to be ultra-matte, lightweight on the lips, super pigmented and the wears for 8 hours.

The shade I have is 07 Nu Interdit which YSL classes as a nude, on my pigmented lip it shoes up more rosy pink. I find the consistency to be super lightweight and has a watery texture that is easy to reapply. The pointed tip allows you to overdraw your lips but it does wear off when worn over time.

Sorry to say but this has never lasted me 8 hours, once I eat food it transfer all over the place but one thing is that it is super easy to reapply. This is an ultra-matte formula and it does indeed feel and look matte but doesn't leave you feeling uncomfortable or cracks or flakes on the lips. It does have a slight floral scent but wears away with time if you are sensitive to smells. Overall I like the lip colour and the product but I think it's just nice and not mind-blowing.

What do you think of the YSL lip stains?

Until next time!

  1. This colour looks so pretty! It's a shame that it transfers when eating, but at least it's a comfortable matte xx
