MY SUMMER ESSENTIALS 2015

Summer is slowly approaching. We are in this in-between stage where it's still too cold and get the occasional sunshine that lasts a few days and then BAM grey skies and rain. England for you this is.

What a better way to spruce up my mood than to plan my must needs' this season, ranging from headscarves to nail polish on my pinkies. Here are my essentials picks.

Follow Joyce Ka Yan Lau's board SUMMER ESSENTIALS 2015 on Pinterest.

Above the shoulders - I really do want to own a floppy hat, however I have a 'pea-head' therefore all hats just swirl around and eventually fall off - Any suggestions to make hats stay on my head will be fully appreciated haha!  So for now, I'll just stick to headwraps and bandanas, they really help to pull a look together and also make your hair stay in place.

Face - Wearing a lot of make-up in places with humidity is a no no, frankly because you are just going to sweat, a light dusting of blush, bronzer and some lipstick will be enough to give you a light glow on your cheeks and colour on your lips. P.s lipsticks can top off as a blush, no need to carry more than you need to.

Jewellery - Statement necklaces are perfect to add the finishing touch to any outfit day or night. This little piece has a bohemian look, the little gems, fabric and stone sets it separate from others.

Shades - Protect your eyes from the blistering sun. These Dolce & Gabanna grey shades looks amazing the simplicty of the look is what drew me to them.  I am personally a fan of oversized sunglasses - I like the hidden eyebrows look.

Tops - I am loving the V neck silhouette right now and have  purchased a couple in various colours. They look amazing with any bottoms and are extremely comfortable.

Bottoms - I love wearing shorts, I love a good print, embroidery, any detail, anything that sets it different from other shorts like your plain denim. There's nothing wrong with a plain denim however I always stick with basic block colours on the top and use bottoms to complete my look.

Jackets and Kimonos - A lovely cover up piece  for modesty or protect you from the chilly air. This embroidered kimono is everything! It has a long-line silhouette and incredible detailing.

Body - Dungarees are all the rage, they bring back 70's look and is a great piece to pair with plain tees. Whether you are going on holiday or not, you always want to buy new ones every year, I have been eyeing up this beauty, I love the detail on the shoulders and the matching bottoms. The crochet detailing on this one piece/ bikini is amazing, it definitely will go well with a tan but you might get some funky tan lines.

Shoes - The perfect comfy shoes, slip ons great for walking around in. Has beautiful these snake print and metal cap. When wearing these you definitely need shoe-liners, so you don't get smelly feet. I have been eyeing up these Senso beauty's forever, they are definitely in my wish list, they have a very classic print and lace up detailing.

As you can see from this Pinterest board, I have a very monochrome and simplistic looks. Hopefully there will be lookbooks to come, and please follow my Pinterest as I would be continuing to 'PIN' favorite findings.

Good-bye for now x
