JULY FAVOURITES

Welcome back, it's a super late one but here is my July favourites or basically favourites from the last two months since I didn't post one last month while I was on holiday. Being on holiday meant I had to be practical and to be honest I wish I didn't take as much makeup as I did since I did not even touch 75% of it.

Back to the favourites the most reached for palette has been the Morphe X Kathleen Lights palette, which was limited edition, it seriously has all the colours I need, I did a whole review of this and have featured this in my old favourites too. It contains the perfect base colour to set your eyeshadow primer, a transitional shade and many options of browns and coppers which I reach for the most. The best thing is that it is compact and lightweight so I'm not afraid to drop it. The shadows are pigmented and very easy to blend. I've hit pan on the lightest shade and I really need that colour as a single eyeshadow.

The other makeup product I have been loving is the Colourpop Cosmetics Topaz palette which contains a bronzer and highlight. The bronzer is called Golden Moment which has a beautiful warm undertone, it blends so smoothly and a little goes a long way, this warms up my complexion very well especially since I am more tanned. The highlighter is called She's Here To Stay - mine arrived smashed which I pressed back together and I have been using this a lot. It looks like a deep bronze in the pan but it looks lighter on the cheeks and it a gold colour, I did mention in my review of the Colourpop Pressed Powders that the highlighter does accentuate texture that I don't have on my skin but the colour and glow is so beautiful that I continue to use it.

A foundation favourite that I have been using is the Maybelline Matte and Poreless foundation I really did not like this when I first purchased since it somehow oxidises on my skin even though I went a lighter shade. I still do not use this by itself but as a mixer with my Milani Perfect + Conceal Foundation in Light Beige since I am a little more tanned than my normal summer shade.

I'm usually the type of girl that used 3 different brow products for my brows. Yes, let me repeat that 3, I usually go in with a brow fibre, brow pomade and then a brow pencil. The only brow product that I have been reaching for is the Colourpop Cosmetics Brow Pencil in Bangin' Brunette - I have been loving this - the formula is soft and easy to use, the fine nib also allows me to mimic brow hairs plus the spoolie is amazing - I seriously need to stock up on this. I have been using this brow pencil in all my Instagram posts here, here and here. It looks so natural and I love it.

A mascara that I have been loving recently is the Innisfree Skinny Waterproof Mascara. This mascara has the skinniest wand ever and reaches even the smallest lashes, it also contains fibres which help lengthen your lashes - it is also waterproof which is a plus since Hong Kong was very hot and my mascara did not smudge. I have been continuing to use this and have already bought a backup.

Lastly, a skincare item that you really need to check out, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser. this has changed my skin dramatically and works better than my Origins Ginzing. The water gel formula is very cooling on the skin and instantly sinks into my skin. My skin is always more plump and supple the very next morning and I use this when my skin is very dehydrated in the morning too as a makeup base. I can't rave about this enough and now my mum and sister use this since it has really helped hydrate their skin.

That is all for my July favourites hope you found some good recommendations! I've posted my current favourite lip products in my last post hence I haven't mentioned any lip products in this post - don't forget to check that out!

Until next time!

  1. I hated the hydro boost when I first got it, it was just so strange and different. But I really started to love it once it was nearly empty, typical!
