BOURJOIS ROUGE VELVET LIPSTICK COLLECTION REVIEW FROM INFLUENSTER*

I was sent the Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick to review from Influenster which is a platform where people share their reviews from beauty to food. It hasn't been long that the app was launched in the UK and you get chosen to review their boxes they sent out where I received with these 12 lipsticks that I am going to talk about today.

The velvet lipstick collection contains 12 shades which are all matte and have intense pigment. The lipstick bullet is shaped a little different for precision application and the shade matches the casing of the lipstick.

Shades 1 - 3

01 Hey, Nude! - a peachy nude. Personally, it's not a nude that I will normally go for since it washes me out a little. I also had a little problem applying this and sometimes it looks a bit mustardy which is not ideal especially when I like to prep my lips before putting on a matte lip.

02 Flaming Rose - cooled tone bubble gum pink. I felt like this one washed me out a little too and I'm not a fan of this bubblegum pink. Most colours look a bit different on me since my lips are quite pigmented to start off with. 

03 Hyppink Chic -a dusky pink. One of the most wearable pinks for me.

Shades 4 - 6

04 Hip Hip Pink -raspberry pink. This looks a bit bright on me and it's not a shade that I normally reach for.

05 Brique-a- Brac -pink with a slight red undertone. One of my favourite colours since it has a slight red undertone.

06 - Abrico' Dabra - orange. Almost a neon orange, this is going to be a beautiful summer shade.

Shade 7 - 9

07 Joli Carmin'ois - orange toned red. A very bright red on my colouring.

08 - Rubi's Cute - blue undertone red. A beautiful classic red that makes your teeth look whiter, very bold.

09 Fuchsia Bottle- dark raspberry pink. Not a shade for me with the pinkier undertone.

Shade 10-12

10 Magni-fig - grape purple. A beautiful bold purple red shade, very vampy.

11 Formidable- deep wine red. One of my favourites from the collection - very autumnal.

12 Brunette - brown with red undertone - A firm favourite shade and will be my most reached for colour. 

VERDICT

Overall the lipsticks are super creamy and easy to apply with it's precision point. You do need to let it dry a little before it goes completely matte but it feels very comfortable throughout the day. The lipsticks do have a strong scent at first but then fades. The shade range is okay I would prefer a wider selection of nudes but there is something for everyone. My favourite shades are 08 Rubi's Cute, 10 Magni-fig, 11 Formidable and 12 Brunette.
