HOW TO CURL STRAIGHT LASHES TO LAST ALL DAY | LASH ROUTINE

Having straight Asian lashes, I always found it difficult to curl my lashes and get them to stay curled all day. For this, I have gone through a load of mascaras and tools because you need the perfect products to help you achieve that.

FIND THE PERFECT EYELASH CURLER

Everybody has different eye shapes and there are different eyelashes curlers to suit them. I have smaller eyes and I look towards the Asian brands such as Shu Uemura and Shiseido who are known to have one of the best eyelash curlers. A good eyelash curler can last you a long time and I've had my Shu Uuerma one for 4 years now and it is still going strong. It has a more curved shaped that manages to grab my lashes. For those stubborn tiny lashes in the inner corner, I have a little mini eyelash curler, mine is from a brand called Koji which you can pick up here.

FIND THE RIGHT MASCARA

Is there such a thing called finding the right mascara? Yes, there is, you may want your lashes to be lengthened, defined, volumized, waterproof, oil-free, so many more preferences. For me, I prefer a waterproof mascara since I have oily eyelids, and I want my lashes to be curled, longer and thicker - the whole lot. The best mascaras that I have tried that can hold straight lashes that have been curled with a tool are a drier or fibre formula.

From the drugstore I love the Maybelline Lash Sensational and Loreal Lash Paradise (when it dries a little bit) - they both give me a lengthening and thicker look. From higher-end brands, I love the LancĂ´me Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara which again lengthens and volumised and from Yes Style/Asian brands I love Majolica Majora Lash Expander which defines my lashes, Deja Vu Fibre Mascara which gives me fluffy lashes and Innisfree Skinny Mascara which is also a fibre mascara for those stubborn tiny lashes.

Have I had mascaras that didn't work for me? Plenty but don't give up hope.

DO YOU NEED A HEATED EYELASH CURLER?

Haven't heard of a heated eyelash curler? It's basically straighteners for your lashes. The best way to use a heated lash curler is after the first coat of mascara that you let dry. The heat melts the mascara and allows to you bend and manipulate the way you want your lashes to look. Is it a weird tool? Yes but I have used a heated eyelash curler every day since I was 18. You just need to let your lashes cool and if you want to apply another coat of mascara like I do go ahead. Your lashes will stay put all day long.

SHALL I TRY LASH ENHANCING SERUMS?

Have I been sceptical about trying a lash enhancing serum? Yes. Will they work, will they not work? Am I wasting my money? I have been obsessed with false lashes about 3 months ago and since I have sensitive eyes I did not want to be putting on false lashes every day (I'm also lazy haha). I went and picked up the Rapid Lash Enhancing Serum with my boots points because £40 is a lot of money! I was originally going to get Revitalash but you can't get that in Boots. I have used the lash serum every single day since April and my lashes are so much longer, thicker and healthier and when I don't wear eyeliner they still look fantastic. My lashes were very sparse and now I feel like I have demi wispies on 24/7.

LASH ROUTINE

Step 1 - Curl your eyelashes with the eyelash curler, use a mini one if you need to grab the tiny lash at your inner corner
Step 2 - Apply the first layer of mascara and let dry
Step 3 - Use a heated eyelash curler to heat the mascara brushing the device upwards and towards your eyelids and let cool down
Step 4 - Apply the 2nd layer of mascara and Taa dah! they will not budge.

Hope this helps everyone who has eyelash struggles like me!

Until next time!

  4. Revitalash was a game changer for me, I still use it everyday and I've never gone back to having short stubby lashes! Haven't tried Rapid Lash but I don't think I'd risk changing my serum now!

  10. I'm a big lover of the lash sensational mascara, I really struggle with my bottom lashes though as they are basically non-existent! Really curious about trying a serum, I'll be saving my boots points up too I think
