MINIMAL MAKEUP

Hong Kong is such a hot and humid place and I've learnt not to 'cake' it on even though I love it. It may seem like this is a lot of products but for me, this is the everyday minimal. I do change up my foundation depending on my skin as the weather is making my pores more obvious as also dry.

Sunscreen is very important. I wear an SPF 50 every day with 5 * UV rating as the UV also damages your skin. My most reached for SPF is also an intense day moisturiser from Protocol which I apply on top of my normal moisturisers. It is a little tacky but then my foundations are more on the matte side which cancels it out.

Foundation wise, a firm favourite that I use for everyday natural skin is The Ordinary Coverage Foundation. The shade I use is 1.2Y which is light with yellow undertones. I do find it performs better when I skip my primers as it gives a smoother finish and also lasts longer. I also like using this foundation to mix as it has a more pronounced yellow undertone.

Concealer which I have talked about many times and have used over 2 years is from Ardere Cosmetics, it has a semi-matte finish and the coverage is fantastic to conceal and highlight.

Brows, as I have been really wanting to use up my products, I have still been sticking with the L'Oreal Brow Pomade in Ebony, this isn't your typical pomade formula, it is more on the chalky side but you can create a natural or bold brow with this.

Powder, RCMA no colour powder is my go-to to set my undereye concealer as it brightens and 'cleans up' any mistakes I have made or to perfect my contour. This is also great to set your whole face although the packaging is not great as I pour the powder into my hands which can get quite messy.

Bronze, Highlight and Blush. I love my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette as I use all these shade, therefore, it's more convenient for me, not to mention the huge mirror it has. These powders really blur your pores and give you a radiant complexion. Another highlighter that I actually use to highlight is part of the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow, it has such a beautiful champagne gold colour suitable for everyday use.

Lastly, for lashes, the L'oreal Lash Paradise is a firm favourite of mine, I adore the waterproof version more as it can last through the humidity. This lengthens my lashes dramatically and gives my lashes so much volume too, I've compared it to the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara here.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Until next time!
