Colourpop Sweet Talk Palette Review and Swatches

Seen in my Colourpop Haul, I recently picked up the Sweet Talk Palette which is part of their spring collection, featuring their new pressed glitter powders in the 12 pan palette. Sweet Talk has matte, metallic and glitter finishes in the pink/coral family.

If you have the 12 pan palettes, the size is exactly the same, it comes in a sleeve with the same floral print with the names printed on the back of the palette and also under the shadows. The inside of the surface has a holographic film.

Shades:
- Catch Me : matte pastel peach
- Side 2 Side : warm champagne with silver and pink glitter
- Garden Date : metallic coral with a gold sheen
- Work It : soft matte yellow orange
- Prima Drama : pale rose gold glitter with a copper and gold duochrome shift
- Meadow :  matte true coral
- Early Mornin' : marigold glitter
- Dream Maker : matte soft coral
- ICYMI : matte dirty terracotta
- Melody : metallic rose with a gold flip
- West Side : matte camel

The matte shades

Catch me, Work It, Meadow, Dress Maker, ICYMI, West Side and Feel Free.

Catch Me is most used as a base colour as it is the lightest colour in the palette. Work It, Dream Maker, ICYMI and West Side all blend and swatch smoothly. Meadow is a true coral colour and has almost a neon finish when you apply this onto your eyelids. And lastly Feel Free is a dark warm red-brown which is mainly used for building depth, it is, however, a little muddy.

The metallic shades

Garden Date and Melody

The metallic formula is one of my favourites, they are both extremely smooth and easy to apply. Melody is my favourite shade out of the two as is has a gold duochrome shift, Garden Date is more on the dark pink range. As these are both vibrant colours I use them as an all over the lid shade.

The glitter shades

Prima Drama and Early Mornin'

These are the new pressed glitter shadows. Prima Drama is a light pale pink glitter with gold reflect, the shadow compared to Early Mornin' is very soft and bouncy to touch and moves around in the palette. Early Mornin' a vivid yellow gold glitter has more of a gritty feeling. It is recommended using your fingers to press these shadows onto your lids or a flat shader brush to press.

I find the glitter shades to be hard to work with as there is a lot of fall out so I end up with glitter everywhere, therefore make sure you do your eye makeup first. I did have a few specks that fell onto my face throughout the day so you can use a glitter glue if you wanted to. I always make sure to remove every speck of glitter on my eyes but I do get the old speck that I just won't budge on my face.

The super shock shadow

Side 2  Side

Side 2 Side is the only Super Shock Shadow in the palette and has the same light and bouncy texture. It has beautiful pink and silver glitter shift and I use mainly as an eyeshadow topper as the light warm champagne colour is not very visible. The Super Shock Shadows do dry out so we will have to see if Side 2 Side will dry out in the palette.

Overall I love the concept of this palette and it allows me to play with glitter more. It is definitely a palette for people who like their bright orange corals and mainly glitter. The majority of the matte shades blend beautifully and are a beautiful match for all these different finishes and toppers and I am glad to have this in my collection.

What shades stand out the most for you?

Until next time!

  4. The glitters are just gorgeous, I don't think the overall tones in the palette are really my cup of tea but some of them are so pigmented!

  5. Some of the glitters look quite chunky, but overall it looks like a nice palette.
