Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream Review

Heard of Beauty of Joseon? I stumbled across this moisturiser that had incredible reviews that claim to brighten and nourish your skin and even has anti-ageing benefits. What's more important it's called Dynasty Cream which reminds me of a game I play on the PlayStation. It is a Korean beauty blogger favourite and here's what I thought of it.

Ingredients
The Dynasty cream has 5 functions containing the ingredients: Adenosine for anti-wrinkle, niacinamide for whitening, ceramide for skin elasticity, honey & ginseng for nourishing and moisturising benefit from cucurbit & radish leaf extract. Basically, it is great for dull skin, is a great base for makeup, helps with hyperpigmentation and sagging, protects your skin from seasonal changes and gives you healthy and glowing skin.

Packaging
The packaging is traditional and although I have binned the tissue paper and wire, it sports a frosted packaging that sits nicely in the palm of your hands. It feels weighted and contains 50ml of product. There is a spatula provided that lets you scoop the product and has a slight floral-herbal scent.

Scent and texture
It is a gel-like cream that reminds me of the Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping mask with its stringy texture. It feels thick but when your work it into the skin it melts and absorbs nicely. It doesn't leave that sticky texture and a little product goes a long way.

How to use
With Korean skincare, I have found there are multiple ways to use a moisturiser and this one is no different, you can;

  • use as a massage cream
  • as a sleeping mask
  • mix with foundation or bb cream for a healthy glow
Verdict
I have oily-combination skin and overall it leaves my skin incredibly soft, plump and smooth. I mainly use this as a night cream as it helps with my dry and flaky skin and I have found that it helps soften those areas.

I avoid applying too much product, especially on my t-zone since a light dab is enough for an entire cheek/forehead area. I'm not a huge fan of the scent but it is minimal and does fade away. One of the most important things is that it has not broken me out even with my acne-prone and sensitive skin.

Compared to the Glow Recipe Pink Juice Moisturiser which is one of my favourite gel moisturisers, the Dynasty Cream is a little heavier but more affordable. The GR moisturiser does give you glowy skin and smells a lot nicer.

Would I repurchase? It's a maybe.

Until next time!
