Shiseido Senka UV Essence Sunblock SPF 50+ PA++++ Review

It's been a couple of weeks since my YesStyle Haul landed in my lap and I have been testing and testing new products. Today features the Senka UV Essence Sunblock that has a sun protection factor of 50+.

I've mentioned before I was reading a lot of reviews to replace the Biore Sunscreen that did not work for me and came across this one on Yesstyle. At first glance, the packaging/ product is a little small however it packs a punch of hyaluronic acid which is perfect since my last sunscreen was drying (spoiler!).

What is it?
The essence sunblock is infused with mineral water from Mount Figi and helps soothe and protect your skin from UV rays and hyperpigmentation. It also has antiaging benefits to prevent skin sageness and is fragrance, colour and mineral oil-free. This is gel-cream sunscreen (big giveaway on the essence) and is great for dry and combination-oily skin mentioned here in makeup for oily skin. There is alcohol within the ingredients but you can not feel it or smell it.

Application
This product is incredibly easy to apply and creates an almost skin blurring effect that dries down to a semi-matte finish which is not overly greasy or dry. There is no white cast and sinks in quickly however it does leave like a thin film that makes your skin look hydrated but does not disrupt my foundation.

Verdict
I have been using this for a couple of weeks and I have not broken out and have not ended up like a cakey greasy ball at the end of the day. It is perfect for my sensitive and combination skin. I love that it is fragrance-free and leaves no white cast as that can sometimes affect my foundation. As it gets colder this will be even better for my skin and it has become a holy grail in my skincare routine. SPF is so important for antiaging and we are only getting older by the day.

What sunscreen have you been loving?

Until next time!

  3. Reading this has made me realise that I need to get stricter on using SPF. I used to always, as it was contained in my moisturiser however my current one does not contain SPF.
