Right now while your reading this, I have arrived in Hong Kong. I love wearing make-up therefore looking after my skin up in the air is essential. My skin becomes extremely dehydrated because of the cabin pressure not to mention how tired my skin becomes due to a lack of sleep. I've shared my 10 Step Skincare Routine and I now share a few products that I've took on this long haul flight to follow up.
I never use make-up wipes to remove my make-up normally but when you up in the air, you need to think about convenience, which is the only time I make an exception. I do wear make-up to the airport because I don't want to scare other passengers at 12 in the afternoon. This time I've packed the Ole Henriksen the clean truth cleansing cloth which I received in my latest May Birchbox. These are the ideal size to take onto the flight. These cloths claims to cleanse, brighten and hydrate, which I am going to test out.
As you can see, there are two travel sized bottles both named toner ( I didn't want to write on the bottle with a marker pen), in one of the bottles it is the Superdrug's Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist and the other is the B. Refreshed Essence Lotion. I can easily tell them apart from the consistency- the essence lotion looks cloudy and thicker. I pour a little amount into my hands and pat it into my skin. I talk more about these in my 10 Step Skincare Routine.
An eye gel that I will be taking with me, is the Ole Henriksen Ultimate Eye Gel, it forms a hydrating barrier to protect your under eyes while you sleep - I apply this after my face mask and remove when I wake up.
Masks wise, I've bought two: My Beauty Diary Hyaluronic Acid Intense Moisturising Mask and Elemis Pro-Collagen Hydra-Gel Masks. I will be using the Hyaluronic face mask after I've eaten on the flight, when I am ready to nap. I keep the mask packet as it contains some of the liquid which I can easily pour into my hands and apply onto my face which instantly hydrates your skin. I pop on the Elemis Eye Mask an hour before we land to help my tired looking eyes and help prevent that annoying fine line that I have from creasing more.
I get dry lips and I have been using the Dr. Organic Moroccan Argan Oil lip balm for 2 years. It is infused with Avocado and Almond which helps to nourish, hydrate and restore your lips. The good thing about this lip balm is sits on top of your lips which hydrates throughout your whole journey. It also contains SPF 15 for sun protection, which I also use throughout my whole trip in Hong Kong.
For moisturiser, I went with the Amie Naturally Kind Hydrating Daily Moisturiser and squeezed a small amount into a small container enough for my flight back too. This is moisturiser is thick in formula which I work into my skin it also acts as a great make up base.
Lastly a hand cream, (which I forgot to include in the photograph) I normally avoid bringing any heavily scented items just in-case it irritates other passengers. but I've chosen L'Occitane Dry Skin hand cream in travel size which has been sitting in my draw for a while and screaming for me to use up.
I hope you enjoyed looking through my essentials, If you've never been to Hong Kong have a look through my travel posts (here) and follow me on Instagram, since I will be uploading a lot.
Until next time!
I'm going to Mexico in two weeks so this was really handy to read. As I have never really bothered with in-flight skin care (when I most deffo should!) I think I might try out those two masks! xx

Even a face mist might do wonders if you dont want to whip out a mask x
DeleteI plan on going to New York next month. I will definitely consider bringing a few of these items along with me. I never really thought about skincare and traveling lol. I see how important it is. Thanks for this insightful post. Enjoy Hong Kong!
