Duty Free Shopping is extremely dangerous, or just being in a place with so many different beauty and designer brands. One place that I knew that my bank balance would not like was MAC. Before I went on holiday, I wrote a list of lipsticks that I wanted to add my my lipstick collection - I did indeed pick up most of them but in my defense, it is cheaper due to the currency conversion. I picked up all these in Hong Kong Airport, but as you know I was in South Korea too - if I had time in South Korea ICN Airport, I would of went wild. I picked up Diva, Ruby Woo, Lady Danger, Chili, Mocha, Taupe, Velvet Teddy and Whirl lip pencil.
Diva is in a matte formula, I bought this for my friend as a gift and she keeps snapchatting me, telling me how much she loves it - I am very easily persuaded, so hello Diva. I feel like Ruby Woo and Lady Danger are signature red shades that a lot of people own. Lady Danger leans towards the orange side whereas Ruby Woo has a pink undertone - it also was a little more difficult to swatch Ruby Woo on my arm but they are both beautiful and both matte shades. Chili was the first on my list, my co-worker always wears this and I do have NYX's Sierra but it had to be done. Chili is a burnt orangey red and is also in a matte formula.
I am a nude girl most days so Mocha and Taupe was in the basket. Mocha is in a satin finish and seems like a 'your lips but better' colour. I have worn Taupe and it turns into a brown nude with dark red undertones on me - I have quite pigmented lips so it might be a shade that looks different on everyone. The last lipstick is Velvet Teddy - my perfect everyday nude shade - the one I have which I bought last year is on it's last legs and a back up was needed. And lastly Whirl lip liner - I'm still debating right now if I should of picked up the lipstick version instead of the pencil - I feel like the lipstick would be less drying but the liner would be useful to change the tone of other lipsticks. I can always buy Whirl later.
There's not much to else to say except that I really wanted these shades. These are 100% shades that I will be using. I have put myself on a ban so I've been avoiding going to Boots, Superdrug and online browsing to a certain limit. If you have any favourite MAC lipsticks and liners let me know so I can check it out - if you have a post leave it down below!.
Until next time!

Haha but my bank balance isn't healthy x
DeleteThis is such an impressive haul! One of my favourite things when I'm overseas is to buy heaps of makeup and beauty bits that I might not buy back home.
ReplyDeleteYou've also made me want to buy Taupe and Mocha as well!

DeleteI want to try all of these now as they look fab! www.surangi-stlye.com
ReplyDeleteYou did some real good damage in MAC - I like your style! I have Diva (my most recent purchase but I haven't worn it yet), Ruby Woo (all time favourite red) and Velvet Teddy (my current go to) and I think that you have really sold Taupe to me :)

I'm loving Ruby Woo too atm! Taupe looks a bit red on me but I'll have to experiment with it more, I love the matte formula MAC has x
DeleteYes! Velvet Teddy is my favourite nude as well! I wanted Ruby Woo but never picked it up

Ruby Woo looks really good on my yellow skin tone, it's a bit drier than the other Mac Matte lipsticks but the colours is amazing! You need Ruby-woo!x
DeleteOoh I am itching to pick up some MAC lipsticks myself but I don't have the money for it at the moment! You've chosen a beautiful variety of shades - I have Chili and it's lovely. Diva, Mocha and Taupe look especially stunning against your skin tone. I have heard so many people raving about Velvet Teddy but afraid of how it will look on me. Enjoy your new lipsticks!

Velvet Teddy deffo looks different on every single person, you can go and try this on at Mac. It's definitely my favourite nude x
DeleteChili is one of my all time favourite shades! Such a nice red. I haven't got Lady Danger yet, but it looks so amazing. Need to grab mocha too xx

I'm loving Mocha at the moment, it's a very nice brown nude x
DeleteMAC lipsticks are just too good to pass up on. My favorite shade's still Velvet Teddy, though, despite hundreds of others to choose from.

ME TOO! It's the only nude that looks right on me x
DeleteGeeeeeeeze, this photo is a dream! I don't own any MAC lipsticks which is probably an unforgiveable thing to say! Think i might pick up Velvet Teddy when I'm at the airport next month! xo

Don't worry about it! I didn't either until I got Velvet Teddy. I think it's a good starting one x
DeleteGreat choices! Some of my favourite MAC lipsticks in this post, especially Taupe and Velvet Teddy :) definitely agree that Duty Free can be dangerous... especially when you're in the Holiday spirit! x
