MG is a full coverage cushion providing a smooth, flawless and velvety complexion. It is 45% serum based which hydrates the skin without being sticky. This cushion also claims to cover blemishes and acne scars with its main ingredients being mineral water, blueberry extract and aloe vera extract. It has SPF 50+/PA +++ for protection against UV rays.
The Aprilskin packaging is sleeker and looks more premium compared to the last couple of cushions I have reviewed. It sports a gold trim with Aprilskin on the surface. Inside there is a mirror for easy on the go touch ups. This did not come with any refills and has a standard product filled cushion. It also contains 15grams of product which is standard.
I picked up my normal shade of 23 - Natural Beige, even though it swatched slightly warmer on my arm it is perfect on my face. The coverage is buildable but it claims to cover redness, acne scars and blemishes but I found that it just skipped over those areas. I'm currently breaking out right now so I am really conscious of those peaking through the base, therefore, I go in with a concealer on top.
This cushion provides a radiant, hydrated and dewy glow, I do set parts where I apply concealer. On my first try, I set my whole face with powder and it made the base matte, although it lasted perfectly this way through the day, it became cakey around my nose and mouth area close to the 6-hour mark. This made it difficult to touch up.
Now, I only set my under eyes and brush the rest of the remaining undereye powder on my face and then leave the rest of the base to set naturally and go in with my Mario Badescu spray. I do find that I am a little shiny throughout the day so I do blot but its a very healthy glow which I like. As I don't really set the rest of my face, this product will transfer if you are a face toucher during the day I recommend carrying this around with you for a quick touch-up. I haven't suffered any irritations and it makes me want to try out Aprilskin more.
So far this cushion is high on my ranks and I really want to try out their skincare especially the real calendular peel off pack which is sold out in the Watsons I went to. Available from YesStyle here for UK and Watsons at Causeway Bay.
