NYX Cosmetics Can't Stop Won't Stop Base - Setting Powder, Foundation, Contour Concealer Review

The NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop foundation has been a go-to since November, I featured the foundation in my yearly favourites here. It is a long lasting and full coverage that stretches across 45 shades and now we have setting powders, concealers and primers in this series.

CONTOUR CONCEALER | £8

The contour concealer was added straight to my basket and claims to last for 24 hours, the shade range stretches across 24 colours from fair to deep. The wand applicator is a scalene triangle shape being angled and pointed. The tip of the wand grabs the most product every time making it easy to apply and dip back into the tube. It is slight bendy and soft to apply to your skin.

I selected two shades Alabaster and Caramel. Alabaster - a light shade with a neutral undertone to highlight and Caramel - a beige with neutral undertone for contouring. I use Alabaster underneath my eyes to conceal and highlight and go in with two thin layers using my fingers to blend out the inner corner and a brush towards the temple. It is lightweight and does not feel heavy or cakey at all.

Caramel is used on the top corners of my forehead and under my cheekbones to contour which I dab onto my skin. I blend out with both a brush and a beauty blender so that everything is smooth and blended. You do have a few seconds to work with the product before it sets and it is not drying on the skin at all. I wear makeup for about 12 hours a day and my under eye area are still flawless.

SETTING POWDER | £12

The setting powder, claims to be lightweight, has a matte finish keeping oils at bay and comes in 6 shades; light, light-medium, medium, medium-deep, deep and banana. The packaging itself is very well thought out as the lid has a stopper to prevent the powder from going everywhere.

I opted for the shade Light which is perfect for skin tones who are in the light category. I am the shade 'Vanilla' in the matching foundation and it brightens my undereye area and sets my whole face. I also use this powder to bake my undereye and it leaves with a super smooth skin without being cakey. As it is a coloured powder if you were on the fair side it may be too dark.

The setting powder does mattify my skin well but as I am naturally oily I need to reapply lightly or blot around every 4-5 hours. At the end of the day around 12 hours, I do notice my base is separating but overall I am really pleased with the performance of the setting powder and how it perfectly cleans (bakes) up my contour.

OVERALL

I am really pleased with both the concealer and setting powder, the concealer is amazing and fantastic to cover blemishes and blend. It lasts incredibly long on my skin and the setting powder is wonderful to bake with without feeling heavy at all. They all go really well together and I am a bit obsessed.

Will you be trying these out?

Until next time!
