Anessa Perfect UV Skincare Milk SPF 50+ Review

Where shall I start? Anessa is a Japanese skincare brand under the umbrella Shiesedo and with one of my holy grail SPF being born under that brand it was time to try the best selling SPF in the market. Their SPF's are divided into 4 categories: no suntan, whitening, sensitive skin and makeup.
The Anessa Perfect UV Skincare Milk is their no. 1 best selling sunscreen. It has:
  • a smooth and lightweight feeling
  • is suitable for both face and body
  • can be used as a makeup primer
  • SPF 50+
  • PA+++
  • Thermo booster technology - UV protection becomes stronger with heat
  • Aqua Booster EX Technology - stronger protection when in contact with sweat or water
  • is friction resistant
  • is water-resistant - lasts for up to 80 minutes
  • includes 50% skincare ingredients
  • and easy to remove with soap.

A perfect sounding SPF. When I first opened this you get an instant whiff of lemon scent followed by alcohol. The scent does not linger but the alcohol side is concerning since I've used SPF that had a high alcohol % and it ended up drying out my skin and eventually breaking me out.

The SPF itself is perfectly described as milk, lightweight and easy to blend into your skin. You do need to give the bottle a shake and apply enough sunscreen on your face which should be about 3 finger lengths. There is no white cast and does not leave your skin feeling sticky.

My foundation went on well but it made my foundation spotty towards the end of the day. I saw foundation dots around my chin and between my brows mainly where my t-zone area is. In terms of sweat-resistant when you wear this during workouts it stings your eyes and the SPF makes my skin a little white (this is without foundation on).

Overall it has a nice finish but it did make me break out with tiny red bumps so I won't be using this on my face and just reserve for my body. I picked mine up in Japan but it is widely available across drugstores in Asia and also on Yesstyle if you want to check it out. I heard the sensitive range does not have as high of an alcohol % so I may try that in the future.

Will you be trying this SPF?

I hope you've enjoyed this review and found it helpful.

  4. This is a shame, it sounds nice on the face of it but actually wearing it gave you a different result.
