CLINIQUE POP LIP COLOUR + PRIMER REVIEW

The Clinique Pop Lip Colour and Primer has been on the market for a while now with 23 shades to choose from. From the name, they serve as a primer to smooth and nourish your lips with a bold statement colour.

PACKAGING
The lipstick is in a plastic compact which means it's travel-friendly, the colour of the bullet also matches the lid perfectly, therefore, it is more efficient to easily identify which shade you are to wear. The simple packaging with the brand name or a mirrored lids makes the product very sleek and elegant which I approve of.

PRODUCT
These lipsticks are designed to nourish and last on your lips for up to 8 hours, I find that it does exactly what it says but I found it to be a little slippery, therefore the 'priming' effect is not in there for me. They are also extremely easy to use and glides onto the lips smoothly, but I found that it enhanced my dryness on my lips, when I removed it at the end of the night, chunks of dry skin peeled off.

The lipsticks have a satin finish and from the two shade, I have nude pop and red pop - I find nude pop quite sheer and contains a lot of shimmers, with my pigmented lips this shade does not work for me at all. Red Pop is better in terms of pigmentation but still a little slippery for me.

PRICE
These are retailed for £16.00 each, available from Clinique (here) or Boots (here)

MY VERDICT
These lipsticks are extremely creamy, but I am not converted, I do want to try shades that are more suitable for my skin tone but they are not the first choice I would think of.

Have you tried the Clinique Pop Lip and Primers?
 Until next time!
Joyce

  3. Maybe there are so creamy because they are primers. I assume they work as lip balms..
    The shades were nice though.

  8. Very interesting to try them, although I have also this problem that many lipsticks are making my lips so dry after a while.

  9. I think I'll take a miss with these, I tend to get dry lips and I don't want anything to enhance that!
