EVERYDAY BASE

They say natural beauty takes no time, To look natural it takes me twice as long and sometimes I rather just go full glam. Does anyone else have that problem? Today I'm sharing all the base products from my daily morning routine, this was supposed to include all the minimal makeup products too but it got too long so there will be part 2.

From the base, after cleansing my face every morning I immediately reach for the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Lip Protectant, the one that I have is in a tin which is the one I prefer rather than the lipstick bullet, I got this in a Christmas gift set, it is a lovely thick balm that helps moisturise your lips especially if you like your matte lipsticks like me.

Onto toners, I have two that I reach for daily - it may seem extreme but it is what works for my skin. I reach for the Garnier Pure Active Sensitive Anti Blemish Clarifying Tonic, I was initially sent this to review (here) and I haven't stopped using it since, it really helps control my breakouts. The other toner I use is The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner, which I have mentioned a few times, I always go back to this toner, it is slightly thicker in consistency but hydrates and preps your skin for what you are applying on tp.

Onto the eyes, I use The Ordinary Matrixyl 10 + HA which is a serum and dot a small amount and let this sink in around my eyes, my under eye area gets really dry so I do focus on my eyes more. An eye cream that I have been using for a while is the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye, which honestly feels like it is doing nothing but I have gone instore so I'm going to pick up the Super Charger when I finish using this one.

Onto my eyelids, I apply the Papaya Paw Paw Moisturising Balm, you might find this strange but it helps with the dry skin around my eyes, there is no fragrance, no irritation and make my eyeshadow apply a lot smoother after my primer. Plus you can use this anywhere on your body so win-win.

My most loved face cream is actually a gel from Neutrogena, It is from the hydro boost range and this cream is a miracle, it hydrates my skin so well and when I use this before I go to bed it makes my skin plumper. I basically use this day and night. It is a really good makeup base as well for those who don't wear primer.

Onto the last step, I am obsessed with SPF, since getting sunburnt last year, I really do avoid the sun, even though I am situated indoors most of the time I still use factor 50. I have been loving the Frezyderm Velvet Technology Sun Screen which is silicone based but it also mattifies my skin. I don't breakout with this and it does not leave that white cast on your face. This has a 5 star UV rating which is really important because UV also causes damage and I want my skin to look as young as it can.

These are all quite affordable products par the eye cream, I hope you found these helpful and hold out for part 2!

Until next time!

  5. Oh I may have to try that balm on my eyelids as well--I get a random psoriasis patch up there from time to time, and I can never find anything that plays nice with it.
