New in skincare

Unintentionally I have been feeding the skincare addiction purchasing a few bits and bobs. I've nearly finished a few products in my collection so I will be swapping it out with some of these items.

APRILSKIN | REAL CALENDULA PEEL OFF MASK
This is always sold out when I go to a Watsons that has an Aprilskin stand. It is a hyped product across Instagram which is why I really wanted to try it out. It contains 2,000ppm of original calendula flower to clarify and soothe your skin. The floral ingredients and flower oil help moisturise skin at the same time. It also claims to remove dead skin cells and controls sebum.

I have used it a few times but not enough to give my full verdict. If I have spots the mask helps reduce redness and does leave me with super smooth skin. The peel-off function has helped remove dead skin cells, relive some of my pores and even take off a few facial hairs. I shall see how this goes.

It is now stocked in selected Mannings stores in Hong Kong. You can get this directly from the April Skin website which ships worldwide or on Amazon in the UK.

MARIO BADESCU
I picked up the 50th Birthday Set from Beauty bay, which contained: the Facial Spray, Enzyme Cleansing Gel, Silver Powder and Flower & Tonic Mask. Expect the facial spray everything else is new to me. I am excited to try the others out.

The Enzyme Cleansing Gel removes make-up, dirt and oil and contains Papaya Extract which breaks down dull skin leaving you skin fresh and healthy. I will be moving onto the Enzyme Cleansing Gel after I finish my Garnier Pure Active Anti-Blemish Soap-free Gel.

The Silver Powder clears and purifies the T-zone, you add water into the powder to create a paste that removes oils, dirt and blackheads whilst minimising and smoothing pores. There are some really good reviews, especially for blackhead and pore problems.

Flower & Tonic Mask is a combination purifying and calming mask for congested, bumpy or slightly oily skin types, the Kaolin based formula absorbs dirt and oil from pores, The soothing, botanical Balsam Peru ingredient soothes minor redness and irritation, It is suitable for oily & combination skin. I will slowly introduce this into my skincare routine as I don't want to try too many different masks at once.

MISSHA
The First Treatment Essence, I have used this in the past, which was when I went to Korea, I got my best friend to pick this up for me since it is half the price compare to Hong Kong. It helps add hydration and minimise your pores, I am excited to use this again along with the Night Repair Ampoule which helps restore elasticity leaving my skin smooth and plump.

111 SKIN
Aqua Physics Defence Cream NAC Y2 contains a powerful mineral UV filter to protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays, whilst maintaining optimum moisture levels. The NAC Y2 helps the reproduction and regeneration of the cells.  Living in a humid place filled with pollution, this will provide an extra barrier for the skin, it is said to be used underneath SPF, I am excited to use as it will further help prevent sun damage.

Y Theorem Repair Light Serum NAC Y this claims to boost collagen production, supports cell regeneration and provides defence against environmental damage. The result is a bright and radiant complexion with a reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Ideal serum for humid environments and people with oily skin.

MEDIHEAL
I mentioned in my 'Best of skincare 2018' the Mediheal face masks which is really good for dehydrated skin. My best friend also picked up the W.H.P White Hydrating Black Mask and P.D.F A.C Dressing Mask for me to try,

The White Hydrating Black Mask has whitening abilities containing Niacinamide, Euterpe oleracea fruit extract which helps with scarring and pigmentation issues while moisturising. The black sheet mask increases skin elasticity and emits far infrared radiation.

P.D.F A.C Dressing Mask contains Centella Asiatica, Portulaca Oleracea and Salicylic Acid that concentrate on skin problems for rapid and relief, effectively controlling oil. Both these masks sound ideal for my skin right now.

Have you picked up anything new recently? I will report back on these products, I normally do updates and skin care routines on my Instagram story so make sure you are following me on there.

Until next time!
