Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Review

One of the best selling cleaning balms in Korea, I was excited to introduce this makeup remover into my skincare routine. I have used a few cleansing balms in my skincare history that being Heimish, Clinique and Emma Hardie (review).

Packaging

In a 100ml pink twist bottle, when you first open the cleansing balm you receive a clear shield and spatula that you store on the inside/rim of the container. The packing itself is quite bulky therefore not good for travelling. The product comes in a solid form even in this constant humid heat and smells like strawberries and cream.

Ingredients

The cleansing balm has a pH level of 6.1 and contains bamboo extract which helps with skin soothing and protects against UV damage. Acerola, a type of cherry that has high levels of vitamin C with has restoring and soothing properties. Raspberry leaf extract which contains antioxidants to protect the skin from damage and nourishes and tones skin. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, alcohol or artificial colouring.

How to use

- Scoop a dime-sized amount onto your hand and massage until melted
- Massage onto your skin
- Add water to emulsify
- Wash off with warm water
- Follow through with another cleanser

My thoughts

This smells delicious so you look forward to using this, it removes all stubborn makeup including waterproof mascara and leaves my skin clean. However, after continued usage of a week, it gave me the case of cystic acne leaving very painful bumps across my cheeks, chin, forehead, basically everywhere. I know it's not the way I cleanse my skin as I go in with two more cleansers after so it's definitely the product that I am having to a reaction to. I won't be using this again and I have read a couple of reviews saying other people have broken out with cystic acne too.

Have you tried this cleansing balm before? Or what cleansing balms do you recommend?

Until next time!

  5. I LOVE that it smells like Strawberries and Cream. It sounded quite promising at the start. It's a shame your skin didn't quite agree with it x
