Why you need mini's in your life

I am a huge fan of mini products, it lets your sample a new product and reduces how much you spend. There are some items that a mini size is just as sufficient and is just as pretty. We are not talking about the little sachets of products but a physical mini version of the original product.

Powders
Whether it's highlighter, blush or bronzers a mini version is a more than enough product for you to get through if you like purchasing makeup and are always switching up your products. If you have face palettes you have shades that you are you are never going to hit pan. If you look at your collection now which products have you actually hit pan on? There are powder products in my collection, I wish I had a mini size of such as the Jouer Cosmetics Blush Duo, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushers and Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors.

Mascaras
If you are picky about your mascaras, you are not alone. Having straight Asian lashes that just stick out straight and droops once you apply a wet mascara is not ideal. I have binned many mascaras that just smudges and flakes on me. I have tried the mini size of the Benefit They're Real Mascara and Tinted Primer (review here) and Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara (review here).

Primers
Having oily-combination skin, I have experimented with a lot of primers in my life and still, I struggle with finding the perfect primer. The weather has a huge effect on my skin and mini primers are a perfect way to see if my base will hold up longer. I have found great dupes too using mini primers such as the Smashbox Primer Water (comparison here)

Moisturisers
Some beauty products are expensive so you are always in two minds whether you want to take the plunge, one brand that I had that with was the Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Cream which I had no idea if it would work for me since it was more of a treatment. A small jar was already £20 (review here) and I'm glad I purchased the mini. If you are looking at daily moisturisers I stick to the big size since I go through them fast.

Masks
I am a huge mask fan, we are talking about the masks that you can squeeze or scoop out. I have over 10 jar masks and it takes me a long time to go through them all. One thing we always forget is products expire and a has a best before the date so a mini means you are using the product quickly and always want to finish off that product. Some masks I wish I had gone with the mini size is the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping mask since I a small amount goes a long way.

Cleansers
Since I have sensitive skin, cleansers are a big hit and miss for me, there are cleansers that has broken me out badly I.e: the Banila Co Cleansing Balm (review here). And some products made my skin extremely sensitive like the Blueberry bounce cleanser. I have reviewed a huge bunch of mini cleansers here.

Travel
We all know mini products are great for travelling but it can also be a handbag essential, one item being dry shampoo to add volume to flat hair and for on the spot de-grease when we touch our hair too much. My favourite dry shampoo brand is from Batiste and they do a great texturising hairspray too.

Overall
I love miniature products since they are very cute and I have more space fitting products into my acrylic draws. If you are putting the product directly on the skin such as skincare get the mini to try out first. If it's not a staple product, get a mini to reduce storage. Overall make your collection more minimal and reduce waste.

Hope you found this insightful!

Until next time!

    1. Cult beauty has come out with a lot more. Sometimes it's best to ask for samples at counters. Gift sets also have really good mini sizes x

  8. Mini's are a fantastic way to try out something before you commit to the full size, also, they're so handy for travel. Mini lipsticks are just superb in general, I rarely get through a full one.
