Pyunkang Yul Acne Facial Cleanser Review | Acne-prone Skin

Looking for a non-foaming gel cleanser as your morning cleanse or second cleansing in the evening? Me too. Having acne-prone skin I break out easily when I test out new cleansers. Since trying my last cleanser - Cosrx Daily Salicylic Acid Gentle Cleanser (review here) I was looking for something more in terms of my needs, a good cleanse without the breakouts.

The Pyunkang Yul Acne Facial Cleanser is formulated for acne-prone and sensitive skin. It's hypoallergenic and contains:

  • Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract - a BHA that exfoliate dead skin cells
  • Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract - reducing inflammation
  • Centella Asiatica Extract - soothe sensitive skin
  • Tiger Lily - anti-inflammatory
  • Copper Tripeptide - skin regeneration

Other natural ingredients:
  • Green Tea -protection from the environment
  • Liquorice - skin alleviation
  • Rosemary LEaf - oil and water balance
  • Asiatic Knoweed Rose Extract - promotes a stronger skin barrier
  • Ganhaungenin - skin alleviation
  • Matricaria Flower - for sebum control

Ingredients:

Water Cocamidopropyl Betaine Sodium Methyl Oleoyl Taurate PEG-75 Acrylates Copolymer Glycerin Disodium cocoamphodipropionate PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate Dimethyl Sulfone Pyridoxine HCl Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract Butylene Glycol Centella Asiatica Extract Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract Glycyrrhiza Uralensis (Licorice) Root Extract Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract Sodium Chloride Copper Tripeptide-1 Allantoin Citric acid Potassium Hydroxide Sodium Benzoate Phenoxyethanol Disodium EDTA

Application:

This is a gel cleanser, I find using a pea-sized amount is enough for your entire face and neck. It does not create foam but a nice gentle lather which you rinse away with warm water.

The cleanser leaves you with moisturised and clean skin. It's gentle, soothing and has not irritated my acne-prone skin further. I have not experienced purging and have noticed fewer breakouts on my cheeks.

Similar products:

The application and texture remind me of the Fresh Soy Cleanser but nicer smelling, more skin benefits and more affordable.

Most people jump from the Cosrx Salicylic Acid Daily Cleanser (review here) to the Pyunkang Yul Acne Facial Cleanser because it's way more gentle and the Cosrx can be a but stripping especially for sensitive skin.

Overall

This is my number 1 gel cleanser. My breakout stopped when I introduced this to my skincare. It's one of those products where you instantly know you've found the one. I love how super gentle it is on my acne and how it leaves my skin clean and moisturised. If you have acne-prone skin you need to try this. Pyunkang Yul is known for using natural and gentle ingredients and I love their essence toner. I will be trying more from the brand in the future.

I hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful.
