13 PRODUCTS FOR LONG LASTING MAKEUP

I'm the type of person who wears makeup more than 8 hours a day and do not like reapplying or carrying around makeup except lipsticks. These are the 13 products I use almost daily that keeps my makeup looking the same at the end of the day - For products that provide flawless skin, has waterproof abilities and is long lasting read on.

NIVEA MEN POST SHAVE BALM (SENSITIVE) | MILANI CONCEAL + PERFECT 2 IN 1 FOUNDATION + CONCEALER | IT COSMETICS BYE BYE UNDEREYE | ARDERE COSMETICS FLAWLESS CONCEALER | URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION

Starting with the base, after my long skincare routine. The first thing I apply is a primer, I am using the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm in Sensitive as a Primer and have been using it for 6 months now. I purchased this after Nikki Tutorials recommended it. The shave balm contains Glycerin which helps your makeup to stick onto your face- this is a game changer for me and I haven't been using anything else. This seriously makes my makeup lasts all day.

Next is choosing a foundation that lasts all day, I like a full coverage foundation and I have been loving the Milani Conceal + Perfect 2 in 2 Foundation + Concealer. I have a full review of this foundation here, it is medium to full coverage, lightweight, long-wearing, water-resistant and sweat proof. This is a semi-matte finish and as you can tell this is my favourite go-to foundation and I am running low on this.

I wear eyeshadow daily to give my eyes more definition therefore, an eyeshadow primer is needed to make your eyeshadow last longer. It also enhances the colour and pigment of the eyeshadow and to prevents oily eyelids where your eyelid crease sits. I have been using the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Original for years and only a tiny amount is needed to cover your whole eyelid space.

Onto concealer, I have 2 full coverage concealers; It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye which covers my dark circles which contain anti-ageing abilities and is waterproof. The other full coverage concealer is the Ardere Cosmetics Flawless Concealer which I use to brighten my under eyes and to highlight my face. Both of these are very long lasting and you only need a tiny amount that will do the job.  They are also not cakey especially the Ardere Cosmetics Flawless Concealer- I can apply layers of this if I wanted to as it doesn't become cakey.

STILA STAY ALL DAY WATERPROOF LIQUID EYELINER | MAXFACTOR EXCESS INTENSITY LONGWEAR EYELINER | MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATION IN WATERPROOF BLACK | FREEDOM BROW POMADE IN ASHBROW
Now for the eye area, as mentioned before I have oily eyelids so normal eyeliners always smudge on me. The Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner is my favourite eyeliner of all time as it is waterproof, oil proof and sweat proof. This does not smudge on me and does not make me look like I have panda eyes at the end of the day . But do be careful as mistake are hard to fix, sometimes I end up with graphic eyeliner.

Lining my inner waterline for a fuller looking lash line is what I do every single day since my eyelashes are quite sparse. When I was younger my friend told me that you line your inner waterline but that just seemed to terrify me, now I feel like if I don't apply inner waterline I look tired and my eye look just doesn't look as good. For my inner waterline, I use the Maxfactor Excess Intensity  Longwear Eyeliner. It's an automatic liner that twists up and is much softer to apply onto your waterline. This works fantastic on me and does not budge but it doesn't work for my Mum.

Mascaras are a tricky topic for me. I have the most sparse and straight eyelashes that you can get (thanks, mum) and I rely on a mascara that can hold on to my fake curl that I achieve with an eyelash curler without weighing/pulling my eyelashes back down. There are soo many mascaras that do that, the Benefit They're Real Mascara makes my eyelashes droop immediately as the formula is very wet. Not only that I find that normal mascara's smudge under eyes giving the panda eye effect again. The mascara that I swear by now is the Maybelline Lash Sensational in Waterproof Black - it helps define my lashes and a couple of coats can also make my lashes appear thicker and volumised.

Onto the brows, I never leave the house without my brows since they are pretty much non-existant. I have been using the Freedom Brow Pomade in Ash Brow to draw my eyebrows on. The brow pomade allows you to control how light or deep you want your brows to be. With my trusted angled brush from Spectrum Collections, you can mimic brow hairs on your bold skin easily. This claims to be waterproof but I haven' actually dipped my head in water or went swimming with it on. However at the end of the day, the colour is still the same as I applied it first thing in the morning.

GERARD COSMETICS SETTING SPRAY IN GREEN TEA | RMCA NO-COLOR POWDER | NYX LIQUID SUEDE CREAM LIPSTICK | CLEAN & CLEAR OIL CONTROL FILM.
The RCMA No-Color Powder is the only powder I use to set my foundation and concealer. It works great under your eyes which I don't find drying and can be used to 'bake'. I pour a dollop onto my palm and set my makeup. Even though if you use a foundation that is quite matte, I always set my skin with a loose powder since I have oily skin and it helps prevent the foundation slipping off and allows you to apply other powder products on top smoothly.

Onto setting spray I have been using the Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray since May and have now run out, so I've switched to the Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day Setting Spray in Green Tea after seeing it everywhere (blame bloggers). This helps mattify your skin and increases the wear time of your makeup. I use a lot of powders so spraying this after I have applied all my makeup smoothes out my complexion and prevents that powdery look. It does feel a little sticky after but it does not bother me. However I wished someone told me about the scent 'Green Tea' also contains Ginger as it makes my eyes water. I'm going to try the peach scent next time.

Onto blotting paper, as mentioned before I have oily combination skin especially on my t-zone area. Blotting helps absorb the oil that seeps out under your makeup which can make you perfect canvas slip. I have been using the Clean & Clear Oil Control Film for a couple of years now since I like the smooth film texture it has. The film absorbs only your oils on the skin and does not rub off your makeup, therefore enhancing the longevity of your base. I've tried other blotting papers before but it ends up taking off my foundation around the nose area.

Lastly lips, everyone wants a lipstick that can stay on all day. My most hydrating long lasting lip product is the NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede in Sandstorm. It's a cream lipstick or more known as a liquid lipstick. Sandstorm is cool toned brown which I apply on top of any other lip product. It hydrates my lips while giving me a matte look that I want all day. The only time it slides off is when I come in contact with oily foods. It's a fantastic liquid lipstick although I do think they need more shades.

That is all the products that help enhance the longevity of my makeup until I take it off. I swear by these products and I have used them while I was in Hong Kong and South Korea - It survived amazingly in the humidity so they are all great products to use in the Summer. Let me know what products you use that help keep your makeup last all day.

Until next time!
Joyce
