Today we are talking about the 6 foundations that I have on my vanity table. I often swap between different brands/shades, since I easily tan over the summer and my skin changes due to the weather, sometimes I have dry skin, sometimes more oily - very temperamental skin. You can purchase all these online so they are easily accessible and they are all affordable.
Skin History
Starting with a little information on my skin. I have combination skin - oily t-zone, dry under eyes, dark circles, acne scarring and pigmentation around the nose and mouth area. I opt for medium to full coverage foundations to create a flawless base. I am a firm believer in good skin equals good makeup, therefore I really take care of my skin with an extensive 10 Step Skincare Routine.
Foundations
Starting from the lightest shade. Revlon Colorstay | £12.99 . I have this in shade 150 Buff in the combination/oily skin formula. This is my little sister's and I use this to make my foundation lighter to lighten dark foundation shades. The formula of this is more on the matte side and I much prefer the Normal/Dry formula as this tugs onto my skin when I buff it out. This has medium to a buildable full coverage with 13 shades across the range. I am considering purchasing this in my right shade but in the Normal/Dry formula.
Loreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation | £14.99. This is relatively new to the market and I did a First Impressions Review on this, so I'm going to keep this quite basic. It is a sheer to medium coverage foundation that can be reapplied throughout the day. I have this in 07- Golden Beige with 7 shades across the range. This doesn't cover my scars very well but if I colour correct underneath you can hardly see my imperfections. I find this a bit time-consuming since you have to 'tap' this into your skin and sometimes it may leave little imprints of the applicator. This has a dewy finish but I powder well over this. It lasts me a long day and I opt for this on my lazy days. This is the perfect match for me right now. Side note I've owned this for 2 months and only used under 30 times and this has almost dried up. This is the most expensive out of 6 since you get half the product compared to a normal 30ml size.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation | £9.99. This is my everyday go-to foundation right now. It has a sheer to medium coverage with a dewy finish. I can make this into a full coverage foundation if I stipple this into my skin with a colour corrector underneath. This is hydrating on my skin and makes it 'glowy' and flawless, I get loads of compliments on my skin when I wear this. My shade is in Light Beige and it has a yellow undertone. I set my face with a powder after I apply the foundation since it can be a little sticky. This lasts all day on my skin without slipping.
Loreal Paris True Match Foundation | £9.99. This is a medium coverage foundation with 25 shades across the collection. This is the old formula in shade N3, which is the wrong undertone for me since I picked up the wrong shade. They've reformulated the foundation now and it has a lot of shimmer particles, whenever I wear this I look like a glowing disco ball especially when the sun shines onto my face and that is not a cute look. The old formula used to be my favourite foundation and now the new version just sits on my table.
EX1 Inviswear Liquid Foundation | £12.50. I have this in F100 which is the lightest shade of the range, there are 5 shades altogether. I have a full review of this, so I'll just go into basics. This slightly oxidises on me and I do find myself needing to be more tanned to pull this off. However, it creates the most natural flawless complexion. It has semi-matte finish with sheer to a buildable medium coverage I find that I do not need to blot since it does not budge throughout a whole day. If they had a better shade range this will be my everyday foundation.
Lastly Milani Perfect + Conceal 2 in 1 Foundation | £9.99. This is a medium to full coverage foundation with a semi-matte finish with 14 shades across the collection. This has been my favourite foundation that I have discovered so far. I have run out now but it tells you how much I love this foundation since I finished the bottle within 3 months. I was using this on a daily basis since it provides me with a flawless finish that lasts me all day. I wore this in Hong Kong and Korea too and it survived the humidity and did not budge. I can't wait to repurchase and add this to my basket next month. I have a full review which I go into a lot more detail.
Overall
My most loved affordable foundation is the Milani Perfect + Conceal 2 in 1 Foundation for its flawless full coverage followed by the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation for its dewy healthy glow. I hope this post has helped you to choose an affordable foundation from the drugstore or an insight of my foundation choices. It can be quite an overwhelming experience to choose from so many different foundations that drugstores now offer. If you have a similar skin type this may work perfectly for you. And if there are any foundation recommendations please let me know. I have provided swatches of the foundation below.

I've wanted to try that loreal paris cushion foundation thingy for so long! I think I'm going to get one when I run out of my foundation I'm using now :-)

I adored the Loreal Cushion Foundation but like you said, you get barely any product! Mine all dried up and was so disappointed because I loved the formula! I really wanted to try the Milani foundation but have heard it isn't great for those with dry skin so my favourite has to be the Rimmel Match Perfection! Although for good skin days and light-coverage the bourjois one is amazing! xx

Yh my cushion is almost dried up ☹, I think the Milani still works quite well on dry skin I think there's a few reviews on Youtube x
DeleteI think I am going to try the Bourgois and try and find my shade in Milani's online, I want to try Colour Stay from Revlon but they never have a shade to suit me in store. So infuriating. Great post, really helpful as we like the same things in foundations xxx

Yh, I think it's difficult for me to find a suitable colour in the Revlon too! The lighting is always horribles in-stores x
DeleteGreat post! I didn't know we could order off the Milani Website her in the UK so that is great news :) definitely going to have to pick up a few bits! X

Yes!! They have the new stock available too x
DeleteThat's so sad to hear they reformulated the Loreal true match foundation! Why would anyone want shimmer particles in their foundation? That's crazy.

I think they were trying to give it a more dewy finish but they already had the lummi foundation ☹
DeleteThis is a great post! I always love reading how other foundations work on other people. I've tried the one from Revlon and loved that! The LOreal true match, not so much. I like the Bourjois healthy mix but in the serum formula. :) xx

I remember trying the serum version too, I've forgotten about that one, I want to try the 123 from bourjois too! x
DeleteAwesome post! I really like Healthy Mix, also one of my drugstore favourites, I just wish the colour selection was better!

I know I agree. My little sister has a hard time finding the right shade x
DeleteThe Revlon Colorstay line is still one of my favorites, but I've heard lots of great things about the Lumi cushion! Can't wait till it releases here.
