IN THE HIGHLIGHTER DRAW

Everyone has been going crazy for highlighters these days and honestly I don't have that much of a collection but I thought I'll share what I have in my draws. I remember those days when I only had the one that I constantly rebought and constantly used. Blogging has definitely made me venture into discovering more products and sometimes giving up to the hype.

SLEEK CONTOUR PALETTE | BENEFIT HIGH BEAM | BENEFIT WATT'S UP | THEBALM MARY-LOUMINIZER
My first ever highlighter was part of Sleek's Contouring & Blush Palette (Face Form) in Fair when everyone was raving about the Blush 3 compacts that had 3 blush shades. The palette consisted of a bronzer, highlighter and blush and I remember I just kept repurchasing this and stocked up when Boots had a 3 for 2 offer going on. The one in the photograph is the Contouring Palette in Light since I no longer own the Contouring & Blush Palette anymore. The highlight is quite pigmented and leans towards the pink side, it's smooth to apply. I've included 3 different swatch photographs below in different lighting.

Next, is Benefit's High Beam and Watt's Up. I haven't even used these on my face since the tones are either too bronze or too light but they are beautiful highlighters. I received my Watt's Up in the Real Cheeks Party blush palette that was brought out at Christmas last year. High Beam is liquid highlighter that looks pink in the tube, on my skin, it looks like it has more of a white luminescent with light pink undertone (see swatch below). Watt's Up is a cream highlighter that looks almost bronze beige on my skin (see swatch below) and is too dark for me to use as a highlight. I can probably use this as a bronzer. Both of these lasts really long on my arm when I did the swatches, Watt's up left a little tint/stain on my skin.

TheBalm Mary-Louminizer is a much hyped up cult product which I purchased from Birchbox with my points. It is buttery smooth, has lovely champagne golden tone and looks natural. Because it's so finely milled mine has unfortunately shattered. This has been my most reached for highlighter and lasts all day on me. It's easily buildable if you want people to see you highlighter 5 miles away too. I have a photo on Instagram here on me with Mary Lou-minizer on.

ARDERE COSMETICS FLAWLIGHT HIGHLIGHT PEARL & CHAMPAGNE | MAKE UP REVOLUTION RADIANCE PALETTE

I've had the Make Up Revolution Radiance Palette since last Christmas and I've only touched it once. Loads of bloggers raved about this saying it was a dupe for the Hourglass Ambient Light Palette - I don't own it so I can't comment on that. There are three shades: the darkest called Glow, the middle shade is called Exhale and the one on the right is called Exhale. The palette itself looks beautiful and it very affordable at £8. It is pigmented and soft but it just does not show on my skin at all (see the swatches below) I really had to swirl my finger around the product to show up on my skin. I'm not saying that this is a bad product, it's just not for me which I am sad about.

Ardere Cosmetic's Flawless Highlight in Pearl & Champagne is one of my recent new additions and this has overtaken my most loved theBalm Mary- Louminizer. I like mixing both the shades together to apply onto my face. Pearl has a white luminescent glow and Champagne has a slightly more golden tone. These are very pigmented and a little goes a long way. It is buttery smooth and lasts all day on me. I have an Instagram photo here and here wearing the Flawless Highlight. This is the highlighter that gives me the most glow on a small application and does not contain glitter.

That is all for my highlighters right now. I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into my small collection, I do have the Jaclyn Hill Face Palette which should be in my possession soon and I am very excited to try out Becca Cosmetics since I feel like I need to try out the brand. If there are any highlighter recommendation please let me know in the comments.
Until next time!

  4. Mary Lou-manizer is on my wish list - looks like such a lovely highlight! I have the mini version of Benefit's High Beam and I feel like it's going to last absolutely ages so I can't imagine ever purchasing the full size to be honest and for £5, it's a right bargain.
