It's here, my monthly Birchbox post. This month, Birchbox has collaborated with Tatler Magazine to bring us party season products. If you didn't know Birchbox is a subscription that lets you try out different brands and products based on your profile, which cost's £12.99 a month including P+P .
This month I have received 5 products in my box but first of all, let's talk about the packaging. The box is another pullout drawer box which I have now collected a few of. The peacock feathers print on the box is soo beautiful and matches my bedding quite well. Green is my favourite colour and teal is right up my street, it sure brings out the festive vibes in me.
Starting off with a product that every subscriber has this month is the
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar Primer. I have heard of OCC before but have never actually tried their products, the most popular product I have heard from OCC is the lip paints which hand in hand goes with the Lip Primer for longer lasting colour. This is a treatment that preps our lips for colour and contains Vitamin E, hemp and peppermint oil - all to do with hydration.
The next item is a brow product from
bbrowbar, which is a brow pencil. I received mine in the shade
Cinnamon Spice. It claims to be smudge-proof, waterproof and fool-proof and has a natural matte finish. I'm not too much impressed with this brow pencil so far as it too orange on my brows and does not make my brows natural at all. I also had to use a lot of pressure to apply this so this is definitely a miss.
For face products this month, I received the
Nuxe Creme Prodigieuse Anti-Fatigue Moisturising Cream. It is packed with blue everlasting flower to boost anti-oxidant levels and hydration. Like all Nuxe product, it has a strong floral scent which I am not too much a fan of but we will have to see how I get along with it when I use it.
Another face product is the
Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow Illuminator which claims to even skin tone, imperfections, control shine and contains light reflecting pigment to add radiance. This has a light coverage, seems to blend quite well and match my skin tone. We will have to see how I get on with this. It says you can also use this as a primer before foundation too .
Lastly a hair product. The
Beauty Protector - Protect & Blonde Toning Shampoo. This is a purple shampoo which is to reduce brassiness. I'm always on a look out to try purple shampoo since my hair is on the warmer side. I've used Beauty Protector before and they have some good products.
Overall I think the box is okay, I love the actual box because of the print and colour, I was much more impressed with last months, I have seen other people's Birchbox 's which contains the Wet Brush. We will see what I receive next month.

Kind of wish I had gotten the BB cream in my box instead of the hairbrush! I'm always looking for smaller sizes of it to take travelling with me! Really excited about the Lip Tar Primer though smells amazing!x

This looks like a pretty good box overal but it's a shame you didn't get the wet brush.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of OCC lip Tars so I think the primer sounds fab. xx
