WARM TONES FOR THE COLDER SEASON

The colder seasons always makes us venture into the darker smokier and warmer shades, today I am sharing my picks of makeup that I will be using over the next few months. Hope you spot some favourites.

EYESHADOWS

Looking through my collection, I favour warm tones, therefore, there are more palettes that I want to share but these are my easy go-to because of its miniature size. For an all matte palette, the Dose of Colours Baked Browns palette (£28) is a must have, it contains a base colour to set and warm reddy browns for any transitional look you wish for. The Dose eyeshadows are so buttery and beautiful to work with.

Another palette which I'm sure many people own is the Huda Warm Obsessions palette (£25), when this first arrived at my doorstep I did think it was a bit on the small size but the shadows are amazing, so easy to blend and the shimmery gold colour in the centre just makes everything pop. You can go extra smokey with its burgundy shades, more coral and pink and definitely your warm sunset oranges.

HIGHLIGHT

I don't venture out with my highlighters and tend to stick with the same brands but a very affordable option is from Wet N Wild. The Megaglo Highlight in Precious Petals (£3.75). This highlight is a beautiful champagne rose pink colour, it is very smooth on the skin and is one of those blinding highlights. It's perfect for highlighting your cheekbones and inner eye corner to really make the colours pop. (See swatches here)

LIPS

Lips are definitely where I go all out. I have limited myself to 3: Mac Taupe (£17.50), a beautiful warm brown colour in a matte finish, this sometimes show up a little more red on my pigmented lips but the colour and finish make me constantly reach for it. Taupe is one of my favourite shades after Velvet Teddy and I am also a fan of that vanilla scent.

Is anyone else still a fan of lip crayons? The Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Tortola (£20) has been in my collection for a very long time. It is such a beautiful 90's brown shade which glides smoothly on the lips. The only con is needing to sharpen the pencil to get a fine tip for precision. Longevity and pigment are also superb.

Lastly a liquid lip, that being the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper ($6) which is one of Colourpop's best selling shades. I don't have many of the Ultra Matte Lip since I favour the Ultra Satin Lip formula but Beeper is just so different. It's marketed as a greige rose colour, on me, it brings out more mauvey purple tones and its so unique. The formula is very thin which makes it easy to apply, it's also not transferable. This colour definitely brings out the grungey side of me.

Bottom to top: Beeper, Tortola and Taupe

That is all for this post! Can't wait to play with these shades more!

Until next time and Good luck!
