Glow Recipe | Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask Review

Obsessed with the brand, the avocado melt sleeping mask that claims to moisturise and firm was a must try on my list. For every person that is also obsessed with sleeping masks for the convenience here are my thoughts.

Packaging

In a taller rounder glass bottle, the sleeping mask comes with a plastic spatula to grab the product and unlike the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask this has a much thicker cream consistency and a little goes a long long way. One of the first things I noticed was the smell. 100% actual avocados do not smell nice at all but this is so pleasant to the nose with lavender water, rosemary water, apple fruit water and oil. The actual product does not stay green when you massage this onto your skin and with the perfect hue of pastel green lid, it's a perfect addition to your vanity.

How to use

Similar to the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask there are two different application methods:

1. as a sleeping mask
Scooping 1 dime sizes amount onto the skin as the final step of youe evening routine and pat into your skin, wash thoroughly in the morning,

2. as a wash off mask
spreading a thick layer of product across clean skin from forehead to chin. Wash off with lukewarm water after 10 minutes.

My thoughts

Personally, I use this as a sleeping mask only and I gently dab the spatula into the bottle which gives you more than enough product for your entire face and even neck. Using it as a wash off mask seems like a waste of product to me so I never do that. I went through a phase of using this daily and it's especially good if you have dry and dull skin. For me with combination skin, it really helps with my dryness across my nose and parts when I have dry skin from spots. It always leaves me with such lovely hydrated non-flaky skin the next day.

The difference from the watermelon glow mask is this has a much smoother and slightly matte finish, unlike the immediate glow you get from the watermelon mask but with deeper moisturising and calming benefits from the ingredients.

Ingredients

As we all know it contains avocado, to be precise 74% of the formula is made from the avocado fruit, avocado extract, avocado oil and avocado butter for deep nourishing benefits. It also contains manuka honey (Methylglyoxal aka MGO ) that has anti-bacterial properties and protects your skin against environmental causes that relates to premature ageing and has firming and moisturising benefits. Another ingredient is PHA a super gentle chemical exfoliator that helps buff away dead skin cells and lastly Kaolin which is clay that helps balance skin and pore problems. It is free of parabens, SLS, synthetic dyes and fragrance and mineral oil.

Would I recommend this?

It's a big yes especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. It's such a lovely relaxing product to reach for especially on those flaky days. If you have oily combination skin I will use this on occasion since your skin always needs a little break and does not need to drown in hydration. To be honest, since having this I barely reach for the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask as I am less oily when I wake up in the morning so the Kaolin is clearly helping with my pore problems.
