Products to add into your winter routine

Dry, Dry Dry. Who else's skin is feeling parched? Winter has come and so has the dry flaky skin. Having combination skin, my skin dries up like the dessert sand and these are the products I have been incorporating into my skincare.

Sleeping mask

Using a sleeping mask is a hassle-free, overnight result achieving step. I have many sleeping masks and for winter I reach mostly for the Glow Recipe Avocado Melt Sleeping Mask (review here) which is more potent than the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask (review here). It's thicker and is infused with avocado, manuka honey (great for antibacterial), PHA (a gentle exfoliator) and Kaolin (to balance skin and pore problems). You wake up with plump and moisturised skin, a great base to start the day. Bye flaky skin!

Face Mist

A face mist provides you with instant hydration and can be used as part of your skincare or a pick me up during the day. My most used winter face mist is the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Ultra Fine Mist (review here). It contains 84% of watermelon, hyaluronic acid, rice germ oil (vitamin e) and hibiscus AHA (refreshes and enhances your makeup).  I use it before my moisturiser and SPF and also as a setting spray that gets rid of the powderiness from my makeup and leaves my skin naturally glowy. I am on my third bottle and I truly recommend this beauty.

Moisturising SPF

SPF is an all-year thing, and a moisturising SPF can help provide hydration throughout the day under your base, I go for my holy grail Shiseido Senka UV Essence  (review here) or The Dr Althea Moisturising UV Essence (review here). The Shiseido Senka is packed with hyaluronic acid and is a gel-cream formula, it leaves no white cast and has a skin blurring effect. The Dr. Althea is created for acne-prone and sensitive skin, it contains birch sap (hydration & anti-inflammatory), glacier water (soothing and cooling) and Centella Asiatica extract (boosting collagen production and anti-inflammatory).

Lip Treatment

Is it a balm or is it a mask? Lip treatments are a fantastic way to help with chapped lips and also exfoliate. The Laneige lip sleeping masks are a good overnight treatment, it gently exfoliates your lips and contains vitamin c and hyaluronic acid. I have the berry scent which smells like strawberry candyfloss and the apple lime which is more refreshing.

Another overnight lip treatment I love is the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Lip Pop it contains AHA and hyaluronic acid that exfoliates and moisturise. It adjusts to your PH level and gives you a unique pop of pink. It leaves a lovely stain on my lips the next day.

A lip treatment that I use both night and day time is the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment. It is a thick balm that instantly hydrates and restore your lips. It contains sugar (prevents moisture loss), sea fennel (smooth fine lines and defines the lips) and orange extra (rich in antioxidants)

What products have you introduced to your winter routine?

Until next time!

  2. These sound great - in winter, my skin needs more hydration and gentle love rather than scrubbing. So it's all about over night masks etc! The lip mask in this post sounds amazing!

  3. I love a mist all year round, but I definitely use the colder months as a cheeky excuse to go totally crazy with them!

  4. I want to try Glow recipe so bad, but the prices hold me back a little (and I have to buy it online since there are no stores near me with the brand). This is intriguing me more though, so maybe I’ll take the step soon!
