MINIMAL MAKE UP

Not every day that we want to pile on the makeup especially on our stay indoor days or no makeup day. I feel that makeup just starts the day off and prepares you for anything so you are more productive. Sometimes I do find that my no make-up days actually take more effort and time than my normal makeup routine but I need to master that. I have tried to use the least amount of products for a no makeup menu resulting to 7 products.

The first item is a foundation. I do have uneven skin tone, therefore, I like to perfect or minimise those imperfections by using foundation. A foundation that I have not used in a long time is the EX1 Foundation - it is affordable and provides a flawless base. They've recently launched new shades to their line and I can't wait to try and explore. The consistency is quite thick but feels like a light cream - I like to use a stippling brush for an even application and apply more on the areas I need a bit more coverage plus the pump applicator is always win-win. I have a full review on the EX1 Foundation so feel free to check that out.

After my foundation I like to do my brows, I find the pomade is the easiest and quickest way to perfect my brows. I use this product almost every day and I find a pomade is easy to mark, fill and create my perfect brow shape especially with a precise angled brow brush. This is a very affordable product and is easy to build the depth for a natural or bold brow look. The Freedom Brow Pomade in Ash Brown is a product I recommend to people who are looking for a pro product.

After brows I go in with my concealer which I use under my eyes to cover darkness, to highlight my skin and hide blemishes around my nose. I also use this as a base to perfect the colour of my eyelid area and use as an eyeshadow primer. I have been using this concealer for months and I still love it from the first day I owned it. It is the Ardere Cosmetics Flawless Concealer in Shade 1 which is a full coverage concealer, therefore, a little goes a long way.

Time to set the face and everyone one I know owns the RCMA No Colour Powder, no exception here the RCMA powder does an exceptional job of setting your concealer under your eyes and all over the face. It is finely milled powder and does not become cakey or powdery on your face. I've depotted mine into a loose powder container and the rest of the product I keep in its original container.

I was talking about using the minimal amount of products for an easy everyday face, therefore, I skipped eyeshadow but I did use the Milani Illuminating Powder in Amber Nectar as an eyeshadow, bronzer and blush. It is the type of product that has various of colours and tones in the compact therefore is suitable for many parts of the face. Without eyeshadow my eyes become too bare makes my uneven eyelids  much more noticeable therefore I like to add a little colour. This compact is buildable and can also be used as a highlighter which I skipped.

It's not often that I skip eyeliner all together but seriously who was going to notice that I had no eyeliner on? I went directly into my mascara and used my trusty Maybelline Lash Sensational in Waterproof Black, It separates and volumises my lashes and does not weigh my lashes down. This is an amazing mascara and I know everybody loves it too.

Last of all is lips, I rarely just put on a lip balm since I have a scar on my upper lip and what is better  than an everyday nude? My favourite nude lipstick is Mac Velvet Teddy which was supposedly is Kylie Jenners lip 'plumping' colour that everyone was hyping about - it's not but it has a perfect beige undertone and looks different on every single person. I love this and I have 2 in my collection, one in my handbag and one by my vanity table.

That is all for the 7 products that I use on my face for minimal makeup. I hope you've enjoyed this and if you want to see what the minimal makeup looks on me check out my Instagram Photo.

Until next time!

  3. I actually prefer using minimal makeup as it's quick and efficient most of the time! Mascara is a must for natural beauty enhancing looks, and I love the Maybelline Lash Stiletto liner. The velvet teddy shade is gorgeous though! Definitely want that one!
