AUGUST 'DIVE IN' BIRCHBOX 2016

Welcome to my monthly Birchbox where I share the goodies that are picked out for me to try and test out. Birchbox is a monthly subscription which is tailored to you introducing new brands and products. This month's Birchbox contains 6 products and is called 'Dive In' which are products that allow you to go from the beach to the bar.

You don't receive your products in a box this month but rather a bag that Birchbox has created. It has a scuba/neoprene fabric which is a dove grey colour and the zip details are in the colour Blue Fin. I never really been a fan of when Birchbox removes the box and gives us a bag. The box is seriously much more useful for storage. I'm not a fan of the colour and I thinks it's quite flimsy and not cute.

The first item which is bright pink is the Anatomicals The Buff Stuff Citrus Body Scrub. The is the first time that I have seen this product and brand it contains grapefruit and helps eliminate impurities and scrubs away dead skin cells. I was expecting a strong citrus scent but the grapefruit makes it smell refreshing and pleasant.

The next item is a haircare product. The Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo. This claims to have a lightweight formula and instantly absorbs the oils in your hair leaving no residue. I have the hair type that falls into the greasy category and I live on dry shampoo. I have already used this and it works wonders. It does spray out white but I usually apply my dry shampoo before bed to absorb all the oils so it does not bother me. It's a really nice size to carry in my bag too.

Next item is the Merci Handy Antibacterial Hand Cleansing Gel. This hand gel claims to fight bacteria and contains vitamins to keep your hands nourished and hydrated. This went straight into my bag since I have conjunctivitis right now and sometimes I just have to touch my eyes. I have this in Lollipop which has a sweet almond scent.

I received the Balance Me Radiance Face Mask. Which is not in the photo since I threw this into my draw. I am not a fan of the Balance Me range as it is heavily scented and gives me a headache. This is a lightweight clay based mask which cleanses, exfoliates and brightens.

Next up is a sample of the English Laundry - Signature For Her Eau de Parfum sample. I can't really describe scents but it has tops notes if rose geranium and white blooms with musk notes and a hint of spice. This has a strong florally and a slightly musky scent which reminds me of something that my mum wears so I won't be adding this to my basket anytime soon.

Lastly is the Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Expresso which we had the option to pick the colour. Espresso is a dark brown with a little glitter. It  has a creamy formally and glides easily across your eyes. I have been using this recently as my inner top waterline but it does not apply well on the area, therefore, I apply this on my top lash line so my eyelashes don't look as sparse. It is long lasting on my lash line and does not smudge. This is the type of product that you need oil to remove since the waterproof part is accurate.

Overall I like 3 of the 6 products so far; the Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry ShampooMerci Handy Antibacterial Hand Cleansing Gel and the Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Expresso. The rest of the items I will give it a go or pass it onto someone else. I have seen other blog posts and this month's 'Birchbag' isn't a popular one. What have you received in your Birchbox this month?

  1. That box seems so interesting! Even though that bag is a no go for me, I prefer boxes too :D
